MORE ABOUT RACHEL NELSON
How We Got Here
The SparkNotes version:
You live & you die. On my 5th deployment I decided I didn't want to spend the rest of my life preparing for war. I left active duty, mainly to have a simple life and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Shortly after, my religious views crashed as doctrines & un-reflected explanations of right
& wrong failed to match experience & logic. I went to seminary to investigate deeper, wound up in a Philosophy of Religion PhD program, & found beauty, hope, & magic in everything I once feared.
(In the works) Ph.D. Philosophy of Religion, University of Birmingham, U.K. // Master of Divinity, Southeastern University // B.S. Business Management, American Military University // A.S. Criminal Justice, Community College of the Air Force

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS DISCUSSION PANEL
Engaging the Big Questions
Four panelist of contrasting backgrounds come together to share unique & personal perspectives to a complex philosophical question. Questions like: "Who am I?" "What is God?" "What is right & wrong?" are engaged here. Each panelist talks for 20 minutes, acoustic jams make for a pleasant intermission, and a Q&A will top off the night. This is not a debate styled panel, its a place to indulge yourself in the gift of perceptions outside of your own.
A Monologue of Life
You are in a candle-lit room, sitting with a group of people. What you will do is listen. An un-named individual will enter, take a seat out of view, & share a part of their life with you. Themes like: "What I regret the most," "The best day of my life," & "The thing I can't forgive" are engaged here. The individual will remain anonymous...all there will be, is a voice.
For a Little Inspiration
For the moments of inner deflation, sacred stories brings together local figures of various sacred traditions. Think along the lines of: Shaman, Rabbi, Monk, Priest. They tell their favorite tale of parable or narrative to deliver something inspiring & hopeful that you might be uplifted through a sacred wisdom.
